English: For English, I combined angels and flowers into an informational essay that shows the significance of meaning. I looked deeper into the meanings of Carnations, Forget-me-nots, and Alyssums. I connected these flowers to a specific angel, Archangel Azrael, angel of death. I looked at meanings and symbolism, connecting the two topics together. I looked at the definitions of the words "Memory" and "Remembrance" to see more symbolism in flowers and to see how they connect.
Art: For Art I was actually fairly confused on how to add synthesis into the topic, but eventually I came up with a painting. I made two, the first one was fairly dark and a little gloomy. The second one I made was a lot more lighter and seemed more cheerful. I used the same idea, but changing certain colors and placement of the Angel. The colors in the angel's wings are the colors of the flower's I've chosen, the blue representing Forget-me-not's, red representing Carnations, and the pale pink representing Alyssums. Each of these flowers show remembrance and connect to the main angel, Azrael. On the bottom of the page there is a rainbow, a method I used to being out the meaning of carnations a bit more as well as how Jesus was seen as a more religious background. When thinking of rain, clouds, or sky we tend to also think about rainbows, the reflection of light through water. I connected that to my project, meaning though the reflection of angels through flowers.
History: For history I created another essay on connecting flowers with their meanings, and with the Archangel of Death, Azrael. Also, for this portion I have created a small garden in the back of my house, Carnations, Forget-me-nots, and Alyssums planted. Currently, they are just sprouts, but I will show a before and after picture when they're in bloom. In the essay I looked on the history of each flower and adding the history of Azrael. I added facts on each of the flower into their own paragraphs and at the end, I connected my Grandfather into it. I explained how he connects to the flowers.
